SiteAndSell Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: July 19, 2026

This policy sets the rules for what you may build, publish, and do with SiteAndSell. It's part of our Terms of Service. It applies to your websites, your use of our AI features, and your account generally. The point is simple: SiteAndSell exists to put honest businesses online, and we'll act to keep the platform safe for their visitors, for other customers, and for us.

If you're not sure whether something is allowed, ask first: support@siteandsell.com.

1. Illegal content and activity

Don't use the Service to do, promote, or facilitate anything illegal. This includes, without limitation:

2. Fraud, phishing, and malware

Absolutely not, and this is the category we police hardest, because website builders are a favorite tool of scammers:

We scan published sites (including with automated tools) for phishing and scam signals and act on what we find.

3. Intellectual property

4. Spam and abusive traffic

5. Adult content

Default policy: sexually explicit content is not allowed on SiteAndSell-hosted sites. This includes pornography and sites whose primary purpose is sexually explicit material or services. Non-explicit content that involves nudity in an artistic, medical, or educational context is fine.

[DECISION FLAG for founder] This is a policy choice, not a legal requirement. The "no adult content" default is chosen because: (a) it matches upstream constraints — Stripe restricts adult businesses, and hosting/email providers have their own rules; (b) moderating the line between legal adult content and illegal content is expensive for a solo operator; (c) the target market is small local businesses. If you later want to allow legal adult content, this section and the payment/hosting stack both need review. See docs/legal/README.md.

6. High-risk and restricted categories

Some businesses are legal but carry outsized fraud, legal, or payment risk. You may not use the Service for these without our prior written approval (and some we won't approve while we're small):

This list tracks common payment-processor and platform restricted-business lists and may change. If your legitimate business is on it, contact us — the answer may be yes with conditions.

7. Misinformation and harmful content

Don't publish content that could cause real-world harm: fake health cures, dangerous "treatments," or deliberately deceptive claims about elections or public emergencies. Ordinary opinion, commentary, and marketing puffery are not what this section is about.

8. AI feature misuse

Our AI features are for building and maintaining your website. Don't use them to:

9. Enforcement

We aim to be proportionate and to talk to you first when that's safe to do:

  1. Warning and a chance to fix — for most first-time or borderline issues, we'll email you, explain the problem, and give you a deadline to fix it.
  2. Unpublishing — we can take a site offline (it stays in your account, unpublished) when a violation is clear or a deadline passes.
  3. Suspension or termination — for serious, repeated, or bad-faith violations. Terminated accounts can export their content unless the content itself is illegal or the export would facilitate further abuse.
  4. Immediate action — for phishing, malware, CSAM, active scams, or legal demands, we unpublish first and notify after. Some things we're required to report to authorities, and we will.

We don't pre-approve sites and we're not obligated to monitor, but we may review any published site. If we get it wrong, tell us — appeals go to support@siteandsell.com and a human (currently: the founder) will look.

Reporting abuse: if you find a SiteAndSell-hosted site violating this policy, use the "Report this site" link in the footer of every hosted site, or email abuse@siteandsell.com with the URL and what you saw.

10. Changes

We may update this policy as new abuse patterns emerge; the current version always applies. Material changes will be announced the same way as Terms changes.
